I agree, bucket list it is!!
It is the BEST! Happy Derby day!!
I'd so go for the hats and betting. Fun. Have a wonderful weekend!
Boy oh boy! One of my favorite sporting days is today! I have all the fixings for mint juleps and I have picked my favorite horse and jockey. For I have discovered that the jockey and the trainer are just as important as the horse.
Gosh, there are too few excuses to wear a fancy hat these days...=(
nice blog you have!
I luuuv Derby time of year...
Happy Derby Day !!!
Enjoy the Juleps!!!

The Derby was great, MINE THAT BIRD, was fantastic. Although I was pulling for GENERAL QUARTERS, the sentimental favorite. All of the races today were good, and watching the people was amusing.
No Mint Juleps though, I still prefer a nice glass of Chardonnay.
I've already watched Grey Gardens four times. The only other movie I've watched more is Dirty Dancing, my all time favorite movie.

Oh. Oh .Oh!!! Did you SEE that race.
Swoon.
A 50 to 1 longshot colt takes it.
Talk about a Cinderella story!!
Great Horse, Great jockey, Great trainer!!!
Lifting my mint julep in the air (ok, ok my 2nd)
It was an amazing race, indeed! He came out of nowhere!! I just love watching the Derby... and the HATS!
I have always wanted to go! I love hats!
We do Derby every year in our favorite corner bar, where everybody truly does know everybody's name. I make up all the chits and people pay in a small amount of money and we have win, place and show pots. We all wear fabulous hats and it's one of the highlights of the year.
I've been doing Derby every year for at least 35 years, even when we lived overseas and listened to it on Armed Forces radio. And my mother did it before me!
Loved your post!
I've never had a Mint Julep, but have always wanted to try one. In the right setting. Served in just the right way. And in the right place. With the right people. The first photo of this post looks perfect, so that's what I'm holding out for. I have a feeling it will happen one day on a certain porch in New Orleans.
Those hats are quite something!! Wow, especially the pink one!
