Going To See My Homies In New York!

Alberto is taking me to New York for my birthday. We are going to do alot of tango dancing for sure!

Tango dancing in The South Street Seaport

We'll be staying with different friends all around the city, from the East Side...

Sutton Place

...to the Village. My friends are so generous!

The Village

Jack at Perch recommends a crazy show called Fuerzabruta.
Fuerzabruta, the new show from the Argentine creators of the long-running De La Guarda, is another entry in a dependable if not exactly venerable genre: theater for people who don’t really like theater. Patrons are not required to think, feel or even sit down for this hour long sensory bath at the Daryl Roth Theater. Standing and gaping are all that is strictly necessary, although jumping up and down and dancing are intermittently encouraged. Read more HERE

We've been invited to the beach in East Hampton, and I can hardly wait to see one of my favorite spots on earth.

Of course I'll do some window shopping at my favorites like ABC Carpet and Home.

We've also been invited up to the country in the Catskills.

I'm dying to see The High Line. I know it as the place that time forgot, an old elevated train line overlooking the Hudson River. Read more HERE

Mooi is one of my favorite design companies, and they just opened a retail spot in Soho that I will be dashing off to see.

My friend Maria (McBride) is throwing a little birthday soiree for me at her house.
We are inviting Eddie Ross and Jaithan, Heather from Habitually Chic,
and Vicente from Vicente Wolf Blog.
If there are any other New York City bloggers out there who would like to come, please e-mail me.

I'll have Barbie (my laptop) with me, so I'll keep blogging, and will finally have some time to catch up with all the blogs I love to read and leave some comments!

Though I wondered if you might leave the keyboard behind to simply "live and let live," I am selfishly delighted that you won't be taking a rest from the likes of us while you're in NYC. Looks like it's gonna be the best of birthdays, so thanks in advance for taking us along as virtual accomplices.

I just picked up your link and was reading through the fascinating articles about the High Line. I especially liked the one specifically about Peter Obletz.

Valorie - I have no idea how it happens (I am technologically challenged) but I have been posting about my time in Boston and at the end of my last post, there is a link to you and this post! What fun!

Anyway, have so much fun in NYC. I have been getting a taste of what it must be like to live in the city - meaning riding the subway, carrying groceries and other things on the subway, WALKING a ton, being around crowds of people all day long (remember, I am a hermit who lives in the country in Texas!)etc. The best part is that I have been able to enjoy the best of Boston since I am on vacation. So, you have a fabulous birthday and I hope you get to tango your way through all the wonderful places your heart desires!!

He Everyone!
I'm here and I am loving it! The weather is perfect!!!! Breezy, cool by NOLA standards, and low humidity.
Off to the Hamptons now.
Kwana, would you like to come to NYC for my birthday on the 21st? Please e-mail me mizvtheb@yahoo.com
Anon - I got the rug last year at Pottery Barn, Ikea has one similar, and Madeleine Weinrib has a really great one. And yes it's black and white.
More later...love to you!

My nephew's bride to be wants a cup cake wedding cake, sounds interesting. I sure like this one you displayed (even though it isn't a wedding cake). I get the visual idea though.

I like your site!
