Buenos Aires 2008
Our students Mercedes from Virginia, and Terry from Texas (who are now both tango instructors - we're so proud!) are seen dancing at Confiteria Ideal while on a tango tour we organize twice yearly - want to come along?
Tango Tonight!
In New Orleans with us!
After three long years, the venue where we hosted our weekly dance along with classes has reopened after struggling with Katrina damage. We are so happy to be doing this again. Our students and fellow dancers made this a popular place, and we know they'll do it again!

You Tube has a nice piece on us done for PBS at this space HERE
It shows how fabulous this posh little bar is. You can step into the grotto for an intimate chat...
...or lounge on the plush banquettes that are moved to the sides, making plenty of room for dancing on a great old wooden floor. It's a very elegant, yet a relaxed place, sensual and playful like the tango!
The original brick walls of the buildings have been maintained really giving it the classic New York comes to New Orleans loft feeling. No wonder I like this place so much!
The bar, now called LePhare, is connected to the extraordinary boutique hotel Loft 523. Housed in a century old building, visionary Sean Cummings, designed the hotel and bar. He kept original brick walls, and old wood floors, and cast iron columns.
He furnished it with the best modern pieces, making it feel like a very posh home.
There are incredible iconic pieces of furniture and original art used throughout the space.
Isn't this a fabulous tub to have in a hotel bathroom? Sean only chooses the best!
I'll be taking photos every week, and will make Tango Wednesdays part of Visual Vamp. And of course if you are in New Orleans, please stop by to say hello, and don't forget our Bed and Tango too!
